Golf Courses in Lawrence
There’s just something about the age-old game of golf that keeps people coming back for more. It’s a low-key sport that, when paired with a temperate day outside, makes for a perfect way to spend an afternoon. If golf is your go-to game, you’ll be happy to know Remington Square apartments offer not only great amenities and spacious floor plans, but we also offer apartments near Lawrence golf courses and, not only are they within close proximity, but they offer some unique twists to the classic game.
Oak Country Golf Course
Just 30 minutes east of downtown Lawrence, this 18-hole public golf course is a great option, whether you swing with a low or high handicap. With much less congestion than a more metropolitan course, you have the freedom to casually putt your way through this course at your leisure and without being paired up with other golfers if, say, you want to take a swing at a solo round or two. And if a traditional game of golf isn’t enough for you, there’s also the option to try out the footgolf course. Think of it as the love child of soccer and golf. Players kick soccer balls into 21-inch cups. Here, you can try your hands—err, feet—at 18 holes of this lesser-known sport.
Orchards Executive Golf and FootGolf
While carts are available for those who need them, this nine-hole course spans just 1,776 yards, making it an easy-to-walk green for just about anyone. Beginners will rejoice in how welcoming the course is for limited skill levels, but the short course can also test the abilities of even more seasoned veterans. This is another one that also gives you the opportunity to switch gears and play a round or two of that hybrid footgolf game. Off the course, it’s just a short distance to the University of Kansas, so you know there are plentiful dining options for either some pre- or post-round fuel.
Quail Run Elementary Disc Golf Course
We’ve talked a bit about footgolf, which combines soccer and golf. This is another mash-up, but instead combines certain elements of golf with that age-old beach game, Frisbee. Here you’ll find a six-hole course that really puts your Frisbee-aiming skills to the test in a way you didn’t think possible during a game of “golf.” Please note, however, that while this course is fully open to the public, because it’s on an elementary school’s grounds, access to it is limited to weekends or outside of school hours.
